Utah Updates

  • Two Gentlemen of Verona
Great production. Michael V. isthe only actor who can upstage a dog. The Dog upstaged everyone else.
  • Taming of the Shrew (Always Funny)
Interesting version. Staged in 1946-7 in Italy. Not sure which was the shrew, and who was tamed.
  • Cyrano De Bergerac (Hear this is the hit of the season)
Great work. I heard about a Broadway version, and you saw the actor who played Cyrano. Here, you saw an actor who was Cyrano. Needed a few tissue for the ending.
  • Fiddler on the Roof
Great production with a lot of energy. Helped me understand the Jewish culture. More tissue.
  • Othello
Very believable Iago. You so wanted to like him, but you had to hate him. So happy that actor returned. He was cast perfectly.
  • The School for Wives
This was my least favorite of the group. Was just too predictable.

I'm already look at my Calendar for the Fall Season. This year's production includes:
  • Julius Caesar (Hear it will be another modernized production. Top of my list to see)
  • Moonlight and Magnolias
(In this hilarious farce, movie mogul David O. Selznick has hired writer Ben Hecht and director Victor Fleming to write the script for Gone with the Wind. Locked in Selznick’s office, living on only peanuts and bananas, the men turn their world upside down as they give birth to one of the most beloved films of all time. Now, if only Hecht had read the novel.)
  • Gaslight (Mystery)
I'm thinking the end of September.

Nature Sit

Monday and Tuesday were the first two days back to school. I have been helping out two of the Kindergarten classrooms, so I have been coming home tired. We had a storm front come through, so these two days it was actually below 100 outside. I decided to sit outside and listen to pod-casts and audio books while I sit and knit on the patio. Tuesday I filled the bird feeder and took my camera with me.

Someone say FOOD?!?

More pictures in my Nature album.

Any bird watchers, I would love to know who my friends are.

More Socks

I was reminded that I have not posted in a while.

New socks

The picture does not show you the work of my lace knitted leaves. I do promise to get more pictures.

On the Needles:
Working on my BMP (That's their name on Knitty). I'm in the middle of a Riverbed Arch.
Working on a pair of Wild Foote socks. I'm in the early stages of a Upriver Arch.

Working on my Ornament Exchange for my partner in Crafter's Haven. No pictures allowed, because my partner knows about my blog. I will post pictures after she receives it.

Two more sock blanks are on oreder and being shipped. I need to find more Kool Aid.

More Pictures

I should have more pictures by the end of the week. Now that it is summer break for my students (all two weeks), I am enjoying my Summer Vacation. I am in Cedar City, Utah for the Utah Shakespearean Festival. I am seeing the following plays:
  • Two Gentlemen of Verona
  • Taming of the Shrew (Always Funny)
  • Cyrano De Bergerac (Hear this is the hit of the season)
  • Fiddler on the Roof
  • Othello
  • The School for Wives
Since my motel has wireless Internet, and I have my traveling laptop, I might try to post a bit.

Congratulation on #8

The weekend of 8/8/08, and the 3rd Road Course of 5 won. This adds Kyle's Nascar records for this year. A few of the Media thought Kyle was having a drought.
